About the Role

Job Description

Scope of Work:
We are seeking a qualified contractor to demolish the existing rear deck and construct a new elevated wooden deck approximately TBA feet in size at a single-family residential property located in Lake Worth Beach, Florida. The new deck must comply with all applicable Florida Building Code and City of Lake Worth Beach requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
• Demolish and dispose of all existing deck materials safely.
• Provide all labor, materials, and equipment necessary for construction.
• Install pressure-treated framing, decking, railings, stairs, and footings in accordance with code.
• Ensure all work complies with structural, zoning, and safety standards.
• Obtain all required permits and schedule mandatory inspections.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and secure job site throughout the project duration.

Timeline:
All work must be completed within 45 calendar days from the date of permit issuance, unless otherwise approved in writing.

Bid Submission Deadline:
Bids must be submitted by TBA.


Contractor Requirements

Deck Demolition / Renovation

  1. Must hold a valid State of Florida General Contractor or Residential Contractor license.

  2. Must be registered with Palm Beach County and the City of Lake Worth Beach.

  3. Must provide (upon application to bid):

    1. A copy of a valid State License (Certification or Registration).

    2. Palm Beach County Contractor Certification.

    3. City of Lake Worth Beach Contractor Registration.

    4. Proof of General Liability Insurance.

    5. Proof of Workers’ Compensation Insurance (or a valid exemption).

    6. Copy of Qualifier’s Driver’s License.


Upon assignment of the project, and prior to commencement of work, contractor shall be responsible for obtaining and submitting:

  1. A Building Permit from the City of Lake Worth Beach.

  2. Detailed deck construction plans, including dimensions, elevation drawings, and material specifications.

  3. A site plan showing deck location relative to property lines and existing structures.

  4. Compliance with energy code and impervious surface regulations (if applicable).
